Source: Russia’s Gazprom CEO not to meet Turkish minister Wed
MOSCOW, Jun 17 (PRIME) -- Wednesday’s meeting between Russian gas giant Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz that was to be held in St. Petersburg has been cancelled, a diplomatic source in Moscow told PRIME without disclosing the reason.
“We can tell you that Yildiz is not coming,” a representative of the Turkish consulate in St. Petersburg told PRIME.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed large joint energy initiatives including the Turkish Stream pipeline at a meeting on June 13.
At the last meeting Miller and Yildiz arranged the start of the underwater part of the Turkish Stream construction and scheduled its launch for December 2016.
